The Advocate Center for Culture and Education seeks Development Director

The Advocate Center for Culture and Education is currently seeking a Development Director to grow and manage the Center’s fundraising initiatives.

Our Work & Mission:
The Advocate Center unites community residents, volunteers, churches, service providers and educational institutions in a cooperative effort of mutual support and learning to improve the life prospects and well-being of North Philadelphia residents. Through collaborative partnerships with local organizations and core partners including Art Sanctuary, Arts4All, ArtWell, and Mighty Writers, the Center operates the Advocate Leadership Institute (ALI) which is composed of rigorous, semester-long classes after school for Philadelphia youth who are committed to developing skills and knowledge in the performing and visual arts, writing, athletics, leadership and social justice. Currently, The Advocate Center seeks to address the needs of the community holistically through dynamic, interdisciplinary programming that engages the whole person. The Advocate Center is housed at the historic Church of the Advocate.

Roles and Responsibilities:
The Development Director reports to the Executive Director. This is a chance for a talented, high-energy development professional to help the Center realize its goals. The Advocate Center’s $240,000 annual budget is supported by gifts from family foundations and a seed grant that is ending this fiscal and calendar year. The Development Director will be responsible for ensuring the fiscal success and sustainability of the organization with the support of the Executive Director.
