City of Philadelphia seeks Office of Sustainability Equity Fellow

Philadelphia’s Office of Sustainability (OOS) is responsible for implementing Greenworks: A Vision for a Sustainable Philadelphia, the City’s comprehensive sustainability plan. OOS works with partners to improve quality of life in all Philadelphia neighborhoods, reduce the City’s carbon emissions, and prepare Philadelphia for a hotter, wetter future. The Energy Office, housed within OOS, manages municipal government energy operations.

Job Description:
The primary responsibility of this position is coordinating the Beat the Heat pilot, an effort to address inequities resulting in disparities in surface temperature among Philadelphia neighborhoods. The fellow will develop and execute a plan to engage and solicit input from community members and organizations about desired interventions to help them cope with high heat in the short term, and to reduce surface temperatures in the long term. This is a full time- 12 month grant funded position with the opportunity for extension.
