Mount Vernon Manor seeks Qualified Contractor

Overview
The Mantua Greenway is a resident-driven beautification project that will create a safe and beautiful corridor reflecting the values, culture, and people of the Mantua community. The proposed Greenway follows Mantua Avenue from 34th Street to the 40th Street Bridge and continues along 40th Street to Fairmount Park.

Mt. Vernon Manor Community Development Corporation (MVM) is a community-based organization in Mantua that has supported the efforts of the Friends of the Mantua Greenway from concept to design over the last 6 years. The William Penn Foundation has awarded MVM funding for early action projects to be implemented in 2018, including the creation of the Gateway on 720 N. 34th Street, a vacant parcel owned by Mt. Vernon Manor CDC.

MVM is seeking proposals from qualified, licensed, and insured contractors to complete the construction of the Gateway according to specifications prepared by our design team. MVM’s goal is to have the Gateway completed no later than November 30, 2018.

Project Description
As part of the design and development of the Mantua Greenway, MVM is seeking a qualified contractor to construct the Gateway, which will welcome residents and visitors to the community and the trail. The contractor will source materials and complete the project according to the drawings prepared by the Mantua Greenway design firm. These are included in the Appendix.
