Mural Arts Philadelphia (MAP) is the nation’s largest public art program, dedicated to the belief that art ignites change. It is a public private partnership with the City of Philadelphia. For over e decades, MAP has united artists and communities through a collaborative and equitable process, creating nearly 4,000 artworks that have transformed public spaces and individual lives. Mural Arts aims to empower people, stimulate dialogue, and build bridges of understanding with projects that attract artists from Philadelphia and around the world, and programs that focus on youth education, restorative justice, mental health and wellness, and public art and its preservation.
Mural Arts is currently seeking an individual to join our staff as a project manager. This position is with the City of Philadelphia and based in MAP. It is a full-time position that is responsible for the development and execution of a portfolio of public art projects largely rooted in our partnership with city government. This position requires an individual who is a creative yet practical thinker, can collaborate with a variety of people inside and outside our organization, and has the ability to problem-solve.
The projects will be a mix of long term and those that require a quicker turn around. The position requires an individual who can quickly assess a new opportunity, identify the resources needed to achieve it, and coordinate with all of the necessary stakeholders to successfully execute projects on schedule and within budget. Building strong and lasting relationships with community members and the public sector is a key responsibility of the Project Manager. The position serves as an ambassador for the city and Mural Arts at all times while accompanying artists and community through their creative process.
