Zoning Code Commission Releases Interim Report
Zoning Code Commission Executive Director, Eva Gladstein, provided an overview of the Zoning Code Commission's recently released "Interim Report: Assessment of Philadelphia’s Existing Code" and participated in a discussion with stakeholders at PACDC's April Policy Committee meeting.
Results from 10 community outreach meetings held in each of Philadelphia’s city council districts identify what the public wants most from the ZCC as zoning reform moves forward: (1) provide a clear, fair, and efficient zoning approval process; (2) protect existing neighborhoods from development impacts; and (3) involve the public in development decisions. Community input will be used to inform ZCC consultants as they complete an evaluation of the existing code, begin to research best practices from other cities, and develop recommendations for the new code.
