Affordable Housing Centers of Pennsylvania seeks Homeownership Advisor/Advocate

Homeownership is identified as a vehicle where one can leave behind a positive and that build wealth for future generations. The homeownership rate for black/African-American is currently below 42 percent, which is the lowest rate of homeownership since 1968. For Hispanic households the rate is 47 percent. A greater percentage of newly formed households will be from people of color. Prior to embarking on the biggest purchase of their life AHCOPA advisors guide clients through the home purchase process to make them responsible, successful homeowners.

The Housing Counselor’s duties entail direct interaction with clients on their housing and financial issues. The client services that AHCOPA offers include first-time homebuyer preparation, mortgage and real estate tax foreclosure and home improvement counseling. Responsible for conducting First Time Homebuyer workshops. Counselor will need to be available to work some nights and weekends to conduct workshops and client counseling sessions.
