Asian Arts Initiative seeks Youth/Education Programs Manager

Asian Arts Initiative seeks a Youth/Education Programs Manager to oversee the Youth Arts Workshop. The Youth Arts Workshop at Asian Arts Initiative consists of daily after-school programming during the school year, and a six-week all day summer camp, for up to 30 youth in grades 6, 7, and 8. Students receive free meals, homework assistance, and work on art activities that are connected to the socially engaged programming at Asian Arts Initiative.

The Youth/Education Programs Manager will be responsible for overall program development, administration, and supervision of all youth programs at our site in Chinatown. They will help to establish the broader vision and plans for the program, ensure its implementation both as a program coordinator and as a lead teaching artist in the classroom, and align youth programs with other organizational programs and activities. The Youth Programs Manager supervises part-time site coordinators and assistants, teaching artists, and consultants hired for the program. This position reports to the Director of Programs.

The Youth/Education Programs Manager will develop and oversee implementation of the Youth Arts Workshop Program, including curriculum and assessments, and will be a key liaison between Asian Arts Initiative and administration and staff at the schools, the School District of Philadelphia, the Pennsylvania Department of Education, students, parents, community partners, and institutional partners and funders. They will also work closely with Asian Arts Initiative staff to develop educational activities integrated with the organization’s public program seasonal activities in the gallery and theater.
