Centennial Parkside CDC seeks Equitable Development Project Manager

Organization Description

Centennial Parkside Community Development Corporation, also known as CPCDC, is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit community development corporation located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The organization responds to a long-standing need for a Community Development Corporation in East Parkside that can align resources and leverage partnerships to spur equitable revitalization in the community. The initial Board includes leadership from existing neighborhood associations, business owners, local institutions, long-time residents and residents who are newly invested in the area.

CPCDC was established in 2015 with the intention of promoting an equitable development strategy that sustains an economically and culturally diverse community, improves the health and well-being of residents, strengthens the community’s identity and connectivity to Fairmount Park, and enhances the quality of the physical environment. The organization’s activities are focused in the community bounded to the west by Belmont Avenue, to the east by the Schuylkill River, to the north by Fairmount Park, and to the south by the Amtrak Harrisburg corridor.

Role Overview

This role will support the Executive Director and Real Estate Committee in managing the real estate projects and programs related to CPCDC’s Equitable Development Strategy. 

This role will initially be structured as a consulting assignment, based on a scope of services, timetable, and contract agreement to be negotiated by the selected candidate and CPCDC. Upon completion of the consulting assignment, CPCDC will consider extending and expanding the consulting agreement or, alternatively, employing the selected candidate or another individual as part- or full-time staff to fulfill the responsibilities of this role.

This role will support the primary objective of executing the CDC’s equitable real estate development strategy. The CDC will be working with a network of partners to deliver all aspects of a portfolio of real estate projects and programs. These functions and potential partners will cover the whole lifecycle, including community engagement, neighborhood planning, acquisition, development, construction, leasing, property management, social impact, and programming. The  scope of real estate asset classes involved will include residential, commercial, mixed-use, and vacant land.

The primary scope of the role will be to assist in the Project Management of the strategy development and implementation, and where appropriate, at the discrete project and program level. This will include interfacing with the CPCDC staff and Real Estate Committee, the community, funders, government agencies, vendors and contractors, and other project stakeholders.
