NKCDC seeks Director of Real Estate & Economic Development

New Kensington Community Development Corporation (NKCDC) is a community development corporation committed to sustainable development in housing opportunities, economic development, vacant land strategies, community engagement, and real estate development. NKCDC advances social equity and economic empowerment by nurturing and creating opportunities for residents to live and actively shape their neighborhoods of choice. To that end, NKCDC provides free housing counseling to anyone in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and offers many additional resources to residents and businesses in the Kensington, Fishtown, and Port Richmond neighborhoods.

Position Overview:

The Director of Real Estate and Economic Development (“DREED”) will be responsible for overseeing and integrating the Real Estate Development and Economic Development departments, as well as managing each department’s projects and initiatives in support of community wealth and equitable economic revitalization. The Director will be responsible for visioning, implementing, and integrating plans for both our Real Estate and Economic Development teams. They will function as a strategist and advocate for equitable economic development with a responsibility for managing department resources to improve the community’s economic conditions, neighborhood redevelopment efforts, planning, and business attraction. They will bring strong leadership and management skills into a creative and productive workplace culture that centers its work in Trauma-Informed Community Development and REDI (Race, Equity, Diversity, Inclusion) work in the organization and with partners. This position will be located on-site at our main office, 2771 Ruth Street, Suite 1, Philadelphia, PA 19134, but may require significant remote work per City of Philadelphia pandemic safety restrictions.
