NKCDC advances social equity and economic empowerment by nurturing and creating opportunities for residents to live and actively shape their neighborhoods of choice. The Nutrition Educator is the primary facilitator for all SNAP-ED nutrition programming. Programming will include facilitating both series and single direct nutrition education in community based settings and working with partners to assist in policy, systems and environmental change work, with the support of SNAP-ED community health workers. This entails working with food distributers, corner stores and other community partners to support providers in supplying healthy choices using interventions that increase the accessibility, distribution and consumption of healthy foods. The Nutrition Educator will identify ways to incorporate healthy lifestyle promotion into the regular activities of community groups, and will train Community Health Workers in curriculum delivery and nutrition education.
