PACA seeks Cooperative Projects Organizer

Organizational Overview: 

The Philadelphia Area Cooperative Alliance (PACA) is a cooperative whose members are co-ops in the Philadelphia region. PACA is also a 501(c)3 nonprofit dedicated to growing the cooperative economy. Guided by the principles of the international cooperative movement, PACA’s work includes both broad and customized education about the principles and benefits of participating in the cooperative economic movement as well as offering support to existing and start-up cooperatively owned businesses. PACA engages in this work while centering an equitable approach to co-op development for racial and economic justice.

Position Overview:

The Cooperative Projects Organizer’s main purpose is to establish and build upon relationships between PACA and community groups, specifically focusing on groups and individuals that may be eligible for participation in PACA’s 2021 Study Circles program as well our Community Voices project (see below). Both projects are highly collaborative with community partners and multiple stakeholders have been named. The Cooperative Projects Organizer will be responsible for coordinating the implementation, activity, and evaluation of these two projects. This position will serve as the primary liaison between program participants and PACA staff. It is funded by the Independence Public Media Foundation and the William Penn Foundation.
