Organization Overview
The Enterprise Center CDC extends The Enterprise Center’s larger economic development mission to the neighborhood level in West Philadelphia via community engagement and neighborhood revitalization initiatives. The Business Assistance Manager will be the point person for one-on-one technical assistance to community-based small businesses, with a focus on microenterprises in three categories of clients:
- Member businesses of The Enterprise Center’s commercial kitchen facility at 310 S 48th Street.
- Brick-and-mortar businesses on the 52nd Street commercial corridor, a main focal point of the organization’s neighborhood revitalization efforts.
- Other community-based businesses, including non-brick-and-mortar businesses, located in West Philadelphia, with a priority placed on the 19139 and 19143 zip codes.
Position Overview
The Business Assistance Manager will be tasked with helping clients to assess strengths and weaknesses, understand opportunities for stabilization and growth, and improve business practices. The Enterprise Center CDC seeks a Business Assistance Manager who has experience providing technical assistance to small businesses, has an advanced understanding of small business challenges and best practices, is comfortable working with business owners of diverse backgrounds and business types, can build relationships with businesses to support and track progress over time, and can communicate well both externally with clients and internally with team members.
