Today is election day in Philadelphia and there are important offices and issues on the ballot locally and statewide. Please take a moment to make a plan for voting and make sure you follow through. Then, take a moment to encourage your friends, family, and constituents to do the same. Having a government that expresses our values in its decision making starts with us and our communities expressing our values at the ballot box today.
We have important races for City Controller and District Attorney as well as a number of judicial elections. As we told you yesterday, we also have a deeply troubling ballot question concerning property tax exemption and we strongly urge you to vote NO on the Homestead Property Tax Assessment Exclusion. The Committee of Seventy has created a helpful election guide of what you’ll see on the ballot today with information on the issues and candidates. Know before you go by visiting their site here.
The polls today will be open from 7 AM until 8 PM. If you or someone you know is unsure of their polling place first use this portal to find your polling location. If for some reason that doesn’t work call the Board of Elections at 215-686-3943. If you experience any problems voting or see anything improper call the Election Protection Hotline at 1-866-OUR-VOTE.
