Drexel’s Hahnemann University Hospital seeks Community Intervention Specialist

The Healing Hurt People Program (HHP) is a trauma informed, hospital based, community focused intervention strategy dedicated to reducing violent injuries, deaths, and the long term consequences of trauma and to increasing physical and emotional healing among young people in Philadelphia.

The Community Intervention Specialist will provide acute intervention, outreach, counseling, and case management for young victims of interpersonal violence between the ages of 18 and 35. The position requires the ability to provide clinical services in a non-traditional manner/setting, utilizing a wide range of strategies to address symptoms of trauma and disruptions in daily living (safety, emotional management, loss, and future). The candidate must also be able to provide case management services, supporting individuals in the program in increasing connection to school, employment, family, social supports, and social services. Job requires a significant amount of community/home based work, flexible work hours, and a willingness to engage within a diverse range of neighborhoods in Philadelphia.
