Panel Discussion: Historic Preservation Incentives in Other Cities

Philadelphia’s historic architecture rivals that of any American city. Yet we have no financial incentive program to encourage the restoration and adaptive re-use of historic properties. What can we learn from other cities? We’ll hear from preservation advocates in Baltimore, Chicago and New Orleans about municipal incentives for preservation available in those cities.

Programs highlighted will be:

  • Chicago’s Class L Property Tax Initiative
  • Baltimore’s City Historic Tax Credit
  • New Orleans’ Revival Grants program

Moderated by Patrick Grossi, Advocacy Director, Preservation Alliance for Greater Philadelphia.
